3/13 Meeting Wrap-Up

Next Monday, March 19th, marks the 4th (and hopefully last) anniversary of the war. In addition to all of the local events taking place (see previous post), Peace Club will be doing an information table at lunch where we will be doing our own small protest of the war in Iraq. If you have any peace or anti-war T-shirts or buttons, please bring them! We will have some buttons available for a quarter, and we still have Peace Club T-Shirts which you can get! Please come join us at Center Court at lunch on Monday!
Also, I will be asking the folks in the office if it would be possible to lead a moment of silence during the announcements for the soldiers who have passed on in Iraq, and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to do that.

Next week, March 19-22, is Leadership’s Days of Respect week. They are asking/requiring all clubs to prepare a poster or similar art display displaying a theme of respect and to put it up on Monday. We will be meeting Thursday 3/15 in room 112 to work on our poster. Hopefully you can come! Bring your artistic skills and your ideas!

In addition, Leadership is interested in finding helpers for a table they will be doing that week asking students to contribute to an art project. We’re not going to be organizing any real kind of conscription, however if you would like to help on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday next week, you can leave a note in the Leadership box in the office. (I’m expecting to see you at Peace Club’s table on Monday!)

This will probably wrap it up in terms of at-school Peace Club events until Spring Break. As always, stay tuned to the website and keep an eye on our bulletin board for the latest information.
